Today we hear from four women who have intimate knowledge of our men in blue. I've been dating a cop for over a year. He's actually the third cop I've known on a personal level and the second one I've dated. The first one was a nice enough guy, but the relationship wasn't going anywhere.
The guy I've been dating for more than a year is someone I never would have picked if I saw him on a dating Web site. Due to serendipitous events, we ended up having lunch one day, and we really connected -- mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We met for coffee or lunch for a few weeks, and we just went nuts over each other. I have to admit that it's very interesting when we're in public. There've been times we've gotten together right after work.
He threw a jacket over his uniform, but you could still see it. I'd catch the unfriendly vibes from some cop-haters. Being with him has really opened my eyes to how cops are often perceived as stereotypes, not individuals. I'm a typical "stupid civilian," dating someone in law enforcement cops refer to most civilians. We simply don't fit into their world. Before he was a cop, he was a Marine, which is very common. He cheated on me. What makes this even funnier is that my mother was married to a cop long before I was born, and he cheated on her.
She warned me about it, but I didn't listen. I will never date another cop. They're completely impervious to the laws of society, morality and common sense. I married a cop. He's a loving husband, an amazing person and a good cop. Being a cop means he has a dependable income that allows him to retire early with a solid pension.
